Gift boxes are fun and easy to make because of the ease of them. You don’t need to be a designer or to have a lot of experience in making boxes. In fact, with some practice you can create your own box within no time.
So, what are the components that a gift box will need? First, you will need to find a plain old cardboard box. If you don’t have one, you can use some old clothing. You want the box to be large enough to contain all of the gifts that you plan to put inside it.
Next, cut a rectangle of paper into eight pieces and glue them together with glue or some other adhesive. You want to stick these pieces together like they were a table cloth, to ensure the box stays together. To do this, you will need to use a hot glue gun, which is available at any office supply store. Then, add these pieces together and use several coats of glue to make sure that they stick well.
Cut out two lids from a box of the same size and color as the custom packaging boxes that you just glued the paper to. (You can find a ready made lids by looking online or visiting department stores.) When you put these kids on the box, you will need to spray glue the entire time, just in case you need to remove them later.
Now, you can put the inside of the box together. It should look like a picture of your child’s room. You can do this with a couple of felt-like towels. Just cut a small portion of each and then fold them into the shape of a box. You can even use felt paint to cover the paper if you want.
The last step is to attach the gift box to the base of the box using Velcro or some other attachment that you may have on hand. The last thing that you will want to do is make sure that the box is secured down with the appropriate Velcro or snaps. If you use snaps, make sure that the snap is large enough to allow the contents of the box to come out when you are opening the box.
All in all, creating a gift box is easy and is a good party idea for anyone who loves to create things and have a bit of fun. You can also buy pre-made gift boxes, if you want to, which will save you time and money as well.
